Burwell Village Twinning Association
Since 1996, Burwell in Cambridgeshire has been formally twinned with the French village of Lizy-sur-Ourcq, together with the two nearby hamlets of Mary-sur-Ourcq and Ocquerre.
How does Twinning work in reality?
Each year there are alternate exchange visits between Lizy-sur-Ourcq and Burwell.
The visits take place over a long weekend.
Visitors stay as guests in the homes of their host families.
Activities during the weekend are organised by the hosting twinning group.
These include visits for the whole group, but also more informal activities with your allocated hosts.A group celebration takes place on the final evening: dancing, music, dinner...fun!
